Been using WCP since 1.11.09 -
Moved over from George. I had problems with George crashing which was all my problem.
On Monday 15th Feb 10 @ 15.30 hrs I emailed Brad with a problem.
No response back
On Thursday 18th Feb 10 @ 16.06 hrs I again emailed Brad asking for a
response.
On 19th Feb 10 @ 08.45 hrs I received the following from Brad :-
" I had passed this on to Ian as, in my opinion, the job should not stay on worklist. I have re-sent your email to him and also text him so you should get n email back soon."
No response to date.
Do I keep emailing them or do I post this ?

Davie,
try and establish contact with Ian before further airing your problem on here, especially with quoting private emails send to you from Brad....
The time delays for responses to your emails are somewhat extended, if the problem you have is a big one then if you can get a contact number for either Brad or Ian you could at least contact them direct in an effort to resolve the issue.
Or you could perhaps give a fuller explanation of the problem you have and other users of the program will be able to help and advise you as to how solve it.

Ian,
Point taken re quoting email
I do not feel I should have to send another email or phone.
WCP is not a cheap purchase so my expectations are greater than that of say George.
Re asking for assistance from other forum members - WCP is more than capable of giving me advice directly.
My complaint was the time it has all taken.
-
I think Davy t has full right to put this thread up I do not know him but I am aware of his problem and Brad has draged his feet on this matter. So ian I think you are wrong to say what you have mate.
-
If you look back about 6 pages you'll find they have been having a few problems lately and an explanation of why.
-
Chris,
If WCP have been having problems, which I am well aware of, it is all the more reason that they at least keep contact, rather than let it slip.
If I have a problem with any of my customers I make it a point to keep them informed and up to date.
-
I quite agree I'm not defending them, just thought you may not have seen the previous post, I'm still using George I did trail WCP but personally wasn't prepared to pay the extra for monthly payments and then again extra for gold service and the backups.

Wizard, my post was merely cautionary as such topics can lead to a more general attack, and if you note, I did also offer my own advice, agreeing that the response times to Davie's emails were overly long.
If I thought this post was totally inappropriate it would have been removed.
Davie is midway through this issue and hopefully it will be resolved without too much ill feeling, my personal opinion - not as a moderator I might add - is that he should pursue the issue further with WCP until he at least knows the reason for the slow/poor response to his emails.
Others will disagree, thats cool...it makes for a good debate!...which doesn't mean argument or mud slinging!

Chris,
WCP has been good for me.
I opted for their internet backup for safety / recovery.
I found George to be good however I wanted more info than Geoorge could offer.
Paul's assistance was second to none and when you consider the price difference between George and WCP, it gives reason to my initail post.
-
Hi Ian,
If I go along with your suggestion, it would be interesting if any forum member can offer a solution.
My question which remains unsolved :-
In WCP when I am raising an Invoice I have on view that particular Invoice + an old one which has been paid for. This extra clean/Invoice is dated around mid / early Nov 09 when I started using WCP. I have approx 30 customers where this happens.
Also when I have done a "one of" clean, raised and Invoice and subsequently had it paid, that job stays on worklists until I actually suspend it. Is this right?
Any help ?

I know Brad and Ian and there reason for not replying at the minute is valid, I dont wish to air these on a forum, I will personally contact them by phone as neither have been on msn lately and see if I can get some response.
-
I think unless you change job from active to suspend or inactive it will stay
in the worksheet you have put that job in. Or this is the case for me anyway.
-
To wightsurf
I keep forgetting to suspend after job has been done.
It would have been simpler to auto suspend it - George does.
-
To be honest , i'm Ians worst nightmare when it comes to mucking up his program ;D
But i would of thought what you said goerge does would be a better way .
I may be wrong and WCP does that, but not for me.
I think things have slowed down abit with this program , maybe because of Windows 7 or what ever but things have slowed down.

Hi Davie,
I have been unavailable for personal reasons and Brad has been answering emails as best he can. I have your email and it is certainly something that I will take a look at as I am not sure why this is happening. I have been away from my computer and the internet for nearly 2 weeks and currently am going through the 2600+emails that I have. I am also going through testing of a new update to the software.
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian,
Thanks for reply.
After reading your post would it not have been prudent for you, or Brad,to put on a brief post stating that there was a problem and emails - posts etc would be attended to in due course?
Whatever the personal problem was, I do hope I have not caused you personally any distress

Hi Davie,
Yes it would have been an idea to put up a post but we do answer 90% of emails within a couple of hours. It is only the more complicated issues that have to be passed onto myself to look into.
No offense taken as I realise how important (and frustrating) technology can be!
Thanks and I will answer as soon as I have an answer for you.
Cheers
Ian

Personally if I was in Ians shoes and going through what he is the last thing on my mind would be going on the computer to let everyone know I cant respond....

This is the solution, use PEN AND PAPER as this has worked for many many decades with no problems and is very rapid and stress free.
Cost, cheap as chips ;D

For RWC
I thought the the last post from Ian covered all the issues and as far as I was concerned, the matter was concluded to my satisfaction.
You mention Ian's problem , not me - - I had no knowledge of such as after all it is none of my business. I simply read between the lines and presumed something was up and accordingly offered my apologies.
I hope for Ian's sake that the matter is closed.

All closed from my point Dave (apart from sorting out the actual problem)

He needs a decent spam filter

It is also ressurung seeing a supplier who know what they are talkin on about, on here. It does wonders for my confidence in their businesss practice.
Craig mawalan, glyn howard (is he the old master??) and now alex has gone from the forum, but their lack of a presence wouldn't put me off dealing with them.
With the quality of help they have posted over the years, it hs been the doubters and the intrusive and peosnal questioning, which has been a losss to this forum.
ALthough their proxies are still here, there is nuthin like hearing direct form the horses mouth. The trouble was things got personal, and they could only give the same answers to all. Which didn't appease the doubter.
This is a reason why we need more moderators on here. Not someone to crack down with a hammer, but someone who has the ability to steer and diffuse rather than feel under attack.
Dave does well, but is not enough on his own and poeple still try to score points. Ian giles has the respect of the forum, apart from his good info and longevity, he has never been in the firing line as much as king canute from st ives.

Hi guys
As Ian said earlier we do try to reply to emails as soon as possible but unfortunately the last few months have strained our time resources immensely. This isn't an excuse and Davie is right that we (I) should have followed through the email more thoroughly and I apologise for the amount of time it has taken to get a suitable answer to you.
We tend not to hide behind excuses at WCP and we like to think we are upfront with our customers. Ian and myself handle upwards of 20-30 emails a day via WCP and we both have other work commitments too and I will admit that sometimes an email goes amiss or gets lost in the system but I hope that is an exception rather thanth rule.
I will do my best to ensure this doesn't happen again.
Best regards
Brad

More staff needed !
Outstanding customer service is key to any business
-
my copy of wc pro seems okay. davie t said he was happy and there has been some further groveling.
So take the hint and change the post title.
-
Should the title only have been changed when a solution to my WCP was resolved ? Was it a "Good result"
All that was resolved was the issue of no contact fom WCP.
