Title: How Much!!!!!!!!
Post by: Jack Wallace on February 19, 2010, 08:09:41 pm
Dont EVER feel you may be over charging!

I waited in all afternoon for a guy to come and repair my washing machine today. After 15 minutes he tells me, "sorry mate you got error E20" nothing I can do about that." he has to go back to the shop to find out what part and how much. He then hands me a bill for 45 quid!!!

We window cleaners are worth so much more coz at least we bloody DO SOMETHING!

Rant over. ;D

Try emptying the filter at the bottom of the machine at the front. E20 means the machine is not draining, it's either the filter at the bottom or a blockage in the condensor or pump. The engineer should have been able to fix in less than an hour, think he may be having you on. If you feel competent try these links:

You have got something blocked between thw drum and the pump proberly soem coins or screws in the rubber pipe.Open the back and loosen the rubber pipes they have springsteel clips and check what it is.I see it this way call thet ass out cost oyu more so then your machine is biggered so you might give it a go.

You're not comparing like with like Jack. The washing machine man calls to try and fix it and to him it's a one-off job. OK he couldn't fix it and charged his call out fee (which I agree is scandalous).

But with window cleaners we earn smaller money per visit but it's regular on-going trade with the same customer. Put another way: nobody is going to pay the washing machine repair man £200 a year to keep their washing machine going...year in year out!
