Title: brodex hydra alloy - i like it
Post by: Lee Pryor on February 16, 2010, 07:20:15 pm
got one of these to try today (18ft) very good pole for the money, like the anodised finish, stiff, light, good brush. 3 year warranty!!!! cant see a negative. going to order a few more at longer lengths as the sections come off over the next few weeks.

go for the 31 or 36 , the sections come off and you can use all day at 18 and slide the others on as required! ;D

I got the 31 footer, and its champion. I dont use it every day though. The only down side is when its fully extended it can be a tad whippy. :)

25ft is a ace pole, use it all day.

Has anyone got the 36ft ??

Just want to know what that is like, if its too heavy.

Lopped my 25' down to 21' ish and closed length is now less than my slx, slightly heavier though and slightly less rigid than the slx but not bad at all and for the price it's good :)

I first phoned Brobex just before christmas and was offered the 7' pole for free if I bought the hydra, didn't bother to get it then but come January it wasn't on, so got just the 25' from Cleaning spot as it was cheaper

Jut looked at the 2 websites and the brodex site is cheaper, but they dont have the longer poles in stock

hi, yes I am getting this on my 18ft if i open the clamp fully  it seems to grab the section slightly, i have to back the clamp position back a bit to slide the section, love the pole still ;)

hmm...interesting, i have a 36ft on order, and asked about the clamps as i have a fibre glass hydra at the minute, and had no emd of clamp issues...i was told it was down to a bad batch of clamps?!

hope i dont have the same issues, as after 6 months, my fibre glass is no longer useable!! however, see another thread for more info.

issue with clamps is very very minor it only happens on one of mine i have got it sussed now so its not a problem and the good thing about clamps nipping ploe section when open i have found if it catchs on coony guttering the pole section does not collapse as the clamp is keeping it in place great pole no complaints

I bought the 25ft in November. A great pole for money even though I've had to glue some of sections because they came off. Also had some new clamps as others were rubbish.
