hi all , my public liability cover excludes liability arising from asbestos, handling or removal of... would this only apply to builders cleans cos i cant think of anywhere i would come in contact with this stuff.need to know before i say yes to this draft.many thanks for any help before hand

My experience of asbestos is limited, when we moved into our house we had a pile of sheets left in the garden. The council brought in special contractors to remove it.
Should you come across any leave it alone the problem is the dust particles it produces if it breaks.
I'm sure no insurance would cover you for asbestos.

hi lynda, just need to know if during our cleaning life if we come in contact with the stuff that i am not aware of thanks for the reply

In new build cleans, they shouldn't be using the stuff, so you shouldn't be worrying there. If you end up cleaning out older properties....here is where you may come accross it, although if you are removing it ..... it would be because you are a builder and renavating the property.....or as Lynda mentioned, it is loose outside in the garden or somewhere. So you wouldn't touch it. Get council etc involved and contracharge any charges involved to the Invoice.
