Title: Black mould?
Post by: Pj on February 11, 2010, 09:05:39 pm
Any suggestions on what to use?

Quite a new carpet.  Just a small area about 3 metres and a few spots.  Client is paranoid because it's black mould that it will grow into a triffid and strangle her.

Thanks

Mould/meldew

May permanently damage fibres. Apply Neutral Pro-Spotter DO NOT blot. Apply Stain Pro or Multi Pro, allow 10 to 15 minutes dwell time. Apply Fibre & Fabric Rinse solution and blot until dry. Apply a solution of 30ml Oxibrite per litre of water (subject to colour test) and leave to dry. Spray with ClensanŽ after cleaning.

However its not just cleaning the carpet that is the issue, you need to locate the source. You need to change the DNA of mould and cut of the food source.

Lift the carpet check for dampness etc. If the source is not killed then it will come back chemicals are Prochem

Thanks!  Very thorough help there.  I'm aware the problem is bigger, but need to just treat the carpet to keep the customer happy.
