I have started up a traditional window cleaning business in Warwickshire over the last week. I went out canvassing over 2 days and got 14 customers, some to start now and a few to start in march.
The problem is I havent a clue how much to charge (the chap who did our windows a 3 bed semi was £9.50 and took about 10 mins).
I spent two 8 hour days non stop hard graft and took £135, thats 6 houses a day.
Do you work the price per window? Whats a fair price?
Also some houses have a third floor, is it safe up there on a ladder?
Thanks

i wouldnt go up to the third level on a ladders, i would use a pole, 135 is good for 2 days work when just started,
dont be fooled in to thinking that if you aint making 700 per week after a month u aint doing the job properly, earn as much as you need and a little bit extra and u should be ok,

10 quid a 3 / 4 bed semi is about right
when pricing now, i allways just price 1 quid a window, it works out well
on bigger properties i add on little ( i call it my rich tax ) BUT as my round is full, i can afford to get better prices now, thats the trick

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a lot to learn and your info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

i dont think £135 for 16 hours work is good - even when starting out, just stick at it and you will get there!
you will learn quick where the ladder needs to be at each house and in turn you will be alot quicker - then that £135 can be done in 6 hours.
when you build up your round you will find yourself dumping the annoying customers.
always plenty of work out there!
you will learn by your mistakes and that will help you in the future.
def wouldnt do 3rd floor trad!

I would be well pleased with 12x houses @ £11.25 after 2 days canvassing & my 1st week ???
