Title: Advice needed - Window Cleaning / Jet Washing
Post by: Archer on February 10, 2010, 12:11:49 pm

Hi,

I am looking for alittle advice if anyone can help me on this subject.

I do work for someone (big contract) & i provide only window cleaning, as i never really wanted to offer other services as i believe i am very good at window cleaning & thats the way i prefer to operate.

However, i have been asked to do jet washing infront of his store, but dont really know how to go about it

ie: price, how long it would take, etc

So my options are:

Sub it out or buy the equipment to do the job

I will buy the equipment, but i dont need to be buying the biggest, best, most expensive equipment at this stage so would appreciate some advice please.

Im not bothered about losing money further down the line if i have to upgrade to a better piece of equipment , i just need whatever input you could offer

Many thanks

Chris.

I am the same as you, i normally just do commercial windows but work for some biggish firms that ask for jet washing every now and then, i hire a petrol honda as and when required for 65 a day, saves the hassle of buying one and all costs can be passed onto client!!

Archer,
To buy a set-up that is going to last then look at around £1500-£2000.
this should get you all that you might need.

The hire option is another way to go also.

If it's only going to be a one-off then subbing it out is a hassle free way also.
Could be worth finding a good pressure washing company/person in your area and set-up some sort of deal that works for both parties.

MR T,

Do i know you, with you knowing Warren ?

Also thankyou all for your replys, and i will give you a ring nextweek when feeling alittle better.

Over past 3 weeks, i did 4 days in Hospital with kidney stones (unreal pain)

and on Monday had a very deep rooted Wisdom Tooth out - so in quite abit of pain, hence the reason its quiet in Bolton Mr T  ;)
