Steer well clear, like to take your money but hate paying out,put what ever you can afford to one side each month in a seperate account and if you are ever ill its there to withdraw immediately,no forms or waiting for your money.I speak from experience in dealing with them.

It all depends on the injury,I was hurt in a crash 10yrs ago and when I hurt my shoulder 4 years later they refused to pay what was owed cos I aggravated an old injury so be very careful.

For many years my wife and I paid into private health insurance.  Unfortunately the only times we needed any extra help over and above National Health services, they refused because any problems we had were always deemed to be 'pre-existing' - you have to have brand new, never before heard of sickness before they will pay out, and even then they bend over backwards to avoid paying, using amongst other things the iniquitous ploy of researching back into your history to find any insignificant thing you may have consulted a doctor about umpteen years ago then forgotten about.

They call this 'failure to disclose' and even though it's got absolutely nothing to do with whatever you're claiming for, they refuse to pay.

It's a con.  All these things are cons.  You pay in for year after year and then when you need to call on them they s**t on you.   >:(

Put your money in a decent savings account and then when you need it you can actually get at it

Combined from my experience are a dodgy outfit and the reps are only paid on commission basis so they will promise anything to get a sale.

Have used them for years, and got 2 pay outs one slipping on ladder another a car crash.

I would recommend them, any insurance company will try and get out of paying if given ammunition to do so.

Payout is quick, I have accident and the hospital and pay about £50 a month

you clearly need to learn some more sales tips, if sales people come to my house I either make money out of them or the beg to leave really is that simple, I have only once got askled to speak to the sales staff at combined and I replied if they would like to buy stuff off of me or give me a discount please send them round, funny they have not called again  ;)

I have a policy with them, and like Crystal.clear have had to more or less push them out the door. They arrange to call ( Usually two of them ) and check if any changes in your circumstances , then go in for the hard sell of increasing your cover.
Told them if I want to do that I'll contact them.
Touch wood not had to claim so far.

I have since cancelled the policy as in less than 4 years saving i,ll have the same cover in my pocket.
It just takes the disaplin to put the money aside
