Do the paid for adverts work?
I've received some success with the free listing and wondered if anyone has experienced any success with the paid for ads.

I took it out last year mate and it was a total waste of time and money, a few years ago beore the net took off it would have been good but now its just about finished
-
Same here. I had an enhanced with link to my website, cost about £800. Didn't get a single enquiry from it.
When they contacted me the next year to book it again I told them and they said 'Oh, well lots of other window cleaners have had good results from it'.
I said 'What sort of b****y stupid comment is that? What good does it do me even if others are getting results?' Sometimes the idiocy of some of these sales people takes my breath away >:(

cheers for the replies

The biggest issue i had with Yell was the amount of Junk mail and marketing calls i recieved.I would of Paid £600 to to of have to keep answering the phone !
-
i have had 1 job of yell (4 months) and 1 job out of yollow pages (1 month), i think a lot depends on your area and what u r doing commercial or domestic etc
-
yes they work
well they work for ALOT of phone calls selling you a new mobile phone contract, advertising specialists and insurance
-
i never had much luck with yell.

Mate of mine advertises. Cost a fortune. Not worth it at all. I'm just in the free listings.

ive only got the free yell, and its brought in only very high or oddball jobs , so id not want more of these by buying Yell space.
however, iv enjoyed the unusual jobs from it ,makes a change from the norm.
my bread n butter are the elderly of Ipswich and im thinking the folk that look on Yell are a totally different breed , Whether its worth gambling with big money to find them is a different matter

I second that, did it for 2 years cost me £1500 with all the enhanced rubbish, got a couple of small jobs out of it but mainly sales calls, total waste of time for me and others i know!!
I think most people just google now instead of using Yell etc.

ok ive had it for a year now paid out £800 for a year and made around about 40k per year,so yes it does work
