Title: Very low mains water pressure
Post by: Craig 72 on February 08, 2010, 12:35:39 pm
Hi all. This isn't technically to do with window cleaning but it's RO unit related so hope it's ok on here.My brother lives on a farm out in the middle of nowhere and is looking to make his own pure water for a fancy aquarium he's after. The trouble is his water pressure is so low it's unreal.I took my RO unit over there, with the pressure gauge on,and the dial didn't move the pressure was so weak.I personally use a pump to bring my mains pressure up to 60 from 20 but could anyone recommend a pump for him?Or is a case that the pressure is just too weak for a pump to work and he'll have to forget about it?I did offer to make the water for him myself obviously but he wants his own system so he's not relying on me.

The could let the water run from a tap into a water butt then pump it through a ro at 80 psi if he puts the water but at say 3 foot  heigh than the ro if should give some pressure to prime the pump. You can get a cheap pump on e bay from red diving or williams pumps.
