Hi,
I think you have to register your company name, in order to have any kind of protection over it`s copyright, & if your self employed & using a business name, then I am sure this has no copyright protection.
-
I don't think it can be helped. I call myself clearview, checked local phone books etc & no-one called that. But if you look on tinternet theres bloody hundreds.

You may want to look into that a little more, as a lot has changed in 30 years ;)

You would have to be proven negligent or fraudulent for your house to become a problem.

No you don't. Many advantages to being ltd. - speak to an accountant.
Also I believe that you are better protected as a limited company but someone on here may know better than me. Ltd co is limited liability & is a separate entity in itself I believe.
-
A limited company does have limited liability but you will find most companies you deal with for your business i.e. loans, mortgages, leasing etc will require a personal guarantee from you either directly using your home as collateral or a personal promise to mantain payments.
So even if a ltd co folds the directors would find them personally responsible for any guarantees signed, so in that sense its not really any different to a sole trader
