Post by: cleewindows on February 07, 2010, 06:34:36 am
What are the best ways of free advertising?
any good sites that bring in work?
i have 5000 leaflets to deliver and will be advertising in local shops and also in the local papers, but the more ways to advertise the better.
Im also buying some large magnetic signs for the van!
Just looking at ways to get people to know that we are about.
cheers

if i was starting again, id fix a  small jingly bell to the back of my car or  fix an even smaller one to the heel of a shoe. so when out working ,folk would turn round and see who it is

Work on Saturdays, have a magnetic sign, get listed on all the free sites. Do a google search in your local area and see which sites come on top, stick your free add on the most popular. No need to spend any money.

it all depends on your area,  where i live in cornwall, a lot of business use signs along the road to advertise and it seems to work for them

Local phone books, yellow pages etc. Don't need a big spread. Just do the free listings...name,address & phone number.

Knock doors.Ive generated more work in a week compared to the last two years spending money on leaflets and other advertising, its free and you usually pick up a couple a street. When you canvass they see the person they will be dealing with.If they say no leave a leaflet and move on, just keep going and you will build up your business.
And never be pushy,be polite and kind give them the impression that they would trust you cleaning their windows.
