Hi been having problems lately with a frozen shoulder, always seems at its worst after a good day on the pile brush.
Think its about time i bought a sebo duo but the power brush from ashbys has got me thinking WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE FOR AGITATION ON PRE SPRAYS ECT
AS I HAVENT USED EITHER YOU SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

The sebo duo is ok for domestic work as it light. If your looking at aggitation for commercial use then id go for a power brush as these are heavier.

I have always used the power brush.
I find it great but then I am easily satisfied and I do not go for lattest toy etc.
Some people have said in the past they are old hat old technology etc need Sebbo Envirodry, Rotavac etc to do good job
So I would be interested in other opinions
One thing I have wondered is could you use a power brush for brushing in the dry clean granules.
The other point often made it only has one brush so you do not get contra rotating brushing
Thanks for raising topic as I will be interested in other opinions

Almost without exception, pre-sprays perform best if they are applied, agitated and then left to dwell as appropriate.
You can do this with both the machines mentioned, but many CCers I've come across tend to use a powerbrush/wand as part of the extraction process, so unless you have really high spec extraction equipment, it is more difficult to maximise the performance of your entire system and chemicals.
A significant advantage of a seperate machine from the extraction kit, as with the Sebo, Envirodri etc. etc. is that an assistant can agitate for you in advance whilst you are using your extraction kit in another area. Can save quite a bit of time.
I am aware that you could use a powerbrush independently for agitation immediately after pre-spraying.
The Sebo Duo is an extremely low cost piece of kit, so my head would say buy this first.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Hi Ken
I often do that and on the rare occassions I need help but as getting very old might need it all time as i supervise with my walking stick ;D ;D
I can use my wand.
Ken as you have been there done that etc would the power brush work on host granuals if i go north to south and east to west.
Next question would granuals blow up my motors if I use HWE Machine to Pick them to pick up
Just thinking along the lines of making use of kit we have
Was going to ask same question on Foam post of Mikes

I wouldn't vac granuals straight to the machine why not get an inkine filter like they have on TMs?

To be honest Ian, I've never tried what you are proposing, so can't comment with any degree of authority or real world experiences.
I have suspicions though. Dry powder cleaning is best with a contra rotating cylindrical brush machine eg Host, Envirodri, TM4 etc. Second choice would be a rotary @ +/- 175rpm using a 3M carpet skimming pad. Tends to be more "fling" though. A powerbrush with a "flapper" or single cylindrical brush would, IMO, not cut the mustard. Could possible cause problems with the jets blocking too :-[
I wouldn't dream of using any rinse/extraction machine, porty or T/M to vac up the granules. Shaun's suggestion of an in-line filter would be the safe option but you'd end up cleaning out the filter every couple of minutes.
What I have done in thew past is use a tubby vac for the initial extraction. This will take the largest volume of granules. Those remaining will finish drying much quicker and allow for speedier removal with your upright vac.
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Have had good sucess with following method:
Mist (lightly) microsplitter on heavy soiling- agitate with Envirodri contra-rotating brush machine.
Spread (solutions is best) dry granules into pile, agitate N.S, E.W.Leave to dwell 30mins.
Vacuum worst of granules up with Sebo BS36.
Finish wth Kirby Vacuum.

My problem is I do have dreams but like you Ken would not do it unless I could find awat round it
Had thought about inline filter is that any good for Mikes Foam method. Will buy some geanules and see what happens with power brush and sweep up with tub and upright
Do not envisige using method that often to justify Envirodri
