;)This is to all concern,how many of you have to pay this charge of £5 per day,
as some of you know this is going to rise to,£8 per day,how many window cleaners
would be willing to join me in a mass window cleaning protest againest the congestion charge on the day,and you do not have to be a Fed member!the best place to meet would be out side Kens office at Tower Bridge,this charge will go up and up,are we all just going to let it happen ???
I would like your feed back please and we must move fast as time is running out,

Terry, if I lived in London, I'd be there with you, Mate.
You only silver lining that I see about this charge is that it will affect many window cleaners who support Arsenal.

;)A small point!the congestion charge in time will affect you and many others around the country,see how quickly this will spread,there is more than one ken livingstone ;)

Terry, could you not buy a used London cab? I believe they are exempt.
Maybe thats why Prince Phillip has one. LOL.

Yep we are all going to be clobbered by this sooner or later, you might think that people in the service industry that have to carry equipment to their place(s) of work would get some kind of discount.

we could all turn up and clean Kens office windows off ladders one after another all day long!
On a serious note, have you contacted any of the authorities to see if service trades have any sort of exemption, discounted bulk payment etc?

You need more than just window cleaners, its something that affects all trades, maybe you could get conclaves from all manner of trades?
You certainly have my moral support, but I'm a rural cleaner :-\
Hopefully loads of the London ones will rally around ;)

Just put your prices up to reflect the increase and stop moaning.
Find out if you can claim it against you expenses.
A day of action will achieve nothing.
i live in the Peak District National park and would be delighted if they brought in such a charge, our roads were never designed to take so many vehicles.

Your not going to win this one.
With all of the traffic problems involved in our citys, somethink needs to be done before the oil runs out and we go back to using handcarts. ;D
They will also have a lot of useless speed cameras as well ;D

I understand the congestion charge would count as an operating cost when it comes to tax-deductable items? I.E, Gross turnover minus operating costs = profit which is taxable.
I tend to travel to over the Severn Bridge on a fairly regular basis and always ask for a receipt, which I then count as tax deductable when it comes to doing my books.
So should a big 'hooha' be made over the congestion charge if your travelling into London to work? It might even make the traffic lighter; so less time spent on the road?
I'm probably all wrong though. No doubt someone will enlighten me!

£8 is obviously not high enough then.

I've just heard that due to 3 window cleaning protesters, the congestion charge has been dropped, and, Ken will give back all the money to everyone who has ever paid it ;D
