in major need of some help and it seems no one is able to help me.
poles too long for the inside of the van
im trying to carry my poles on the roof rack with a diy or shop bought pipe carrier.
i have tryed using a waste pipe but i want to be able to have brush sticking out and able to have a lid on.
the lids that fit the waste pipes have a narrow neck which means the pole wont go through the lid.
surely someone can help me out?

brodex 31ft hydra pole with goosneck. far too long. cant believe there is no one that has this - there must be someone that has got a pipe carrier and has the lid on
-
Ahhhhh....
I took off the gooseneck (pain in the butt) use the angle adaptor with extention piece - when in van turn it 90 degrees 8)

still wont fit! too much kit in the way. takes up too much time to.
-
Keep your ladder on and put the poles on the ladder clamp and just use a bunjy strap to secure them, done it for years never had any problems, only time they go in the van is at the end of the day.

my plan is to have push fit.
one i have is a 110 mm soil pipe with push fit access cap and i cut a gap for the brush to stick out.
but the push fit access caps have a narrow neck which makes the hole too small
-
cut a bit out of the pipe underneath...let brush hang out..then put push fit on..
i would change it to screw on..for easier access
the push fit access cap is a screw on. would be ok but as i said it has a narrow neck.
looked in every shop/net and all the caps are the same.
if you know of any then please let me know. cheers

go to your local plumbers merchants they will have better stock than the likes of b&q and cheaper aswell... soil stack fittings you want
thats what i did. no good
-
I use the larger 6" pipe as i keep my 57ft hydra pole in it and so i can fit my pole hose in i have cut a slot underneath about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long so i can slide brush further back then i managed to get a end cap but it was slightly bigger so i drilled a hole through the side of it and through the side of the pipe and sloted a pipe through and drilled a hole and put a pad lock on

i got the stuff from screwfix.
for some reason i cant send a link.
pipe is item 56187
crew on end caps 22628 which is the prob. inside the neck is narrow.
pipe coupler 47977
the pic you kindly shown i have seen and when i ordered it - it ended up being the same as the screwfix one!
the pic one would work as it would just fit into a coupler
-
Here`s a pic of what i was explaining on my last reply
-
call into your local plumber merchant..wolseys...plumb centre if they dont dont have one in stock they could order it in.
i worked in plumbers merchants thats how i know the fitting your looking for
ok thanks.
so why do you think that the one i orderd before looked like the pic you had but ended up being the one i had.
are they called the same? and does this cap come in a bigger size?
thinking og getting bigger pipe for pole hose
-
ok thanks guys helped alot.
think im getting my head round this.
160mm soil pipe
with access cap - hope its the one ive been shown on here!
i think the only place i havent been to is plumb centre. will go there!
-
yeah thats the bloody things mate! no good at all. when i saw that pic u sent before i ordered two but when they came it was the same as those pics above.
so i can just get the lid from plumb centre then? or anywhere you would suggest?
im guessing i can just push it straight into the coupler and job done.
thanks again for your help

fao snake hips
if you go on plumbcall.com and put in 110mm soil pipe then scroll down a little you will see the caps i ordered - which look the the first pic u sent but when they came they were the same as second pic.
so is it the wrong thing or not?
do they have different names or are they the same
-
dont think they have different names but a different maker....hepworth was the maker and supplier in my days
ive never seen the one you have before...
how you fit it depends on the end of soil pipe ..if it has a rubber in side. its a push fit
if it hasnt it its solvent weld ..thats putting a glue in it that melts the two togeather
sorry cant help you any more..except go and get you one and post it but would take a few days as iam in belfast
thanks for going out of your way to help
-
do you want me to get you one
thanks for the other mate, ill try and find one when i next go to a plumbing supplier, ill keep you posted tho
thanks for the help
