Ive been asked to do a test patch on some old style ceiling tiles, (pourous type i think)
I do know that Amtech uk do a ceiling/ micro splitter that you just spray on and leave,
Ive asked them if they could send me a sample as i only need to demonstrate the results on a couple of tiles , its then up to the comittee to accept my quote(dependant on price etc)
has anyone got any of this product who could send me a small sample bottle as i dont want to waste £35 plus vat delevery etc to do a test patch, i will cover any cost of delivery etc

Hi Bob, hope all is well. I have cleaned ceiling tiles many times but never used the micro-splitter type. When you do use it could you please let me know how it went and what the results are like please.
Richie.

What do you use the cleaner in conjunction with appliance wise?
In fact what's the full procedure?
Was asked a while ago if I wanted to give this a go but turned it
down because didn't know what it entailed.

Basically mist it onto the porous tiles and just leave it, the yellow seems to dissapear

First off, find out who the manufacturers are of the tiles, and check with them.
There are different types, some are made basically of nothing more than compacted papier-mache which will collapse with moisture added. some makes are glass fibre and still need special care because you could clog up the minute holes on some which are for acoustic protection.

we re-spray suspended ceiling tiles, we used to clean but the results are hit and miss, and its not a very nice job, we spray thousands of metres of this every year. we have teams all over the country. we can sell you the materials to do the job yourself or you can sub us to do the job for you. send me your email address and i will send you the details. even if its dark yellow with nicotine we can get it looking like new. www.pristineceilings.co.uk we supply many of the ceiling cleaners around the country, and restoring with specialist coatings can be less labour intensive than cleaning and around the same cost. how big is the job?

Hi Rob not sure how big the job is yet or wether the comittee will agree to having it done, im cleaning a carpeted area but theres a dance floor and surrounding areas, i just made a passing comment about the ceiling tiles when quoting the carpets, will know more Monday, sorry cant give more details

Slightly of the point,
We did ceiling tiles for M&S in Watford on one floor a few years ago, as we took out a few to replace, one area seemed difficult to push up to release so I gave a bit of heave and a bucket load of urine came down on top me, :'(
The lovely contractors working before hand had placed if there to catch urine leaking from the toilet above and forgot all about it, it was just about full by the time old soppy nuts here got it.
Talk about taking the p **s ;D
Still it gave everyone a good laugh but did I seem to smell that urine for days after despite about 45 showers in disinfectant.
