have spoke to a guy to put it through the sidelights
do you think this is possible ??
just save having a battery in the vechile
batterey would always be charging
any thoughts
-
dont know about that but I've read that some on here plug into the ciggy lighter
-
but wont that drain your van battery, that is why the leisure batterys are huge
-
You will drain the van batt. and if you have a diesel it doen't take a lot for it not to turn over.

For the last 12 + months I have had my pump (Varistream) wired directly to my van battery....ie no leisure battery. I have worked up to 5 hours in one spot without losing the ability to start my van. As a precaution I wired in a voltmeter so I can keep an eye on how low battery power may be getting on a long job in case I need to start my engine and re-charge.....if it drops less than 11v.
This has saved the hassle of having a separate battery.

on my transit, it is wired straight to battery, have worked allday with 2 pumps running and started up went back to base, no probs, would say if you are going to do this, make sure your battery is not knackered

In my Caddy i have it wired via switch direct from the van battery and has worked fine for over a year now.
I fitted switch in the dash so you can switch it on and off when you drive to next job etc.
