There's no easy answer - looking at the forum, you'll see the guys have all types.
I just got mine (Transporter) based on where I see myself in six months and what type of premises - i.e. both domestic and commercial - not a massive workload with two poles running, but a steady one man show - one pole plus ladders.
Could have gone for smaller van but I am not a big fan of the overhanging ladders when it's me driving :D

I use a escort van myself and i,m using wfp trolley system , i carry 250l water in 25l barrels plus my trad gear and it all fits in ok , but i,m now at a point where i may take someone on to help and i may need a bigger van i havn,t really thought this through as of yet . I bought the escort because it was a good buy at the time and it has been a good van but in hindsight something bigger would have been better for the long run.
My advice if you are going to go wfp buy a tidy size van first as last...

I have an Escort too which was fine for me as a window cleaner using traditional methods. However, as I will need to make the big leap into WFP at some point, I would prefer something that can carry a lot more weight. I'm undecided as to which way to jump with this but I have a slack few days coming up so I will research my options then.

we have traffic and kangoo ,, cant say which i prefer nicer drive in traffic, kangoo carries enough water and ladders dont over hang even when i used them , both economical , i would say if two work together larger van traffic would be my choice.

I drive an astra estate. I cant really afford to run 2 cars and She dont drive. Its great because theres loads of room in the back and for a small trolley wfp system it can fit in the back without putting seats down.
Only problem is that it gets messy and when really hot it starts to smell real bad and of course the whole family has to put up with that.
Th other night I left some wet scrim in the back and it turned out to be a really hot night. The next day I must have spent 20 mins just spraying the inside of the car before I could even get in.
Theres a warning.
