Title: Water fed trolley system

I have been asked to clean the windows at a site were I already have the general cleaning. Highest windows are 35' and they will only want doing monthly. 4 small blocks and some are first floor only.

Any comments on a resin purifier only as an RO sytem would not be sensible to produce water once a month? Also are trollies OK?

The site has taps and v hard water.

Why not sub it out to a proper window cleaner?  No offence intended.

I am sure someone on here will cover the area the property is in. You will be sure of a good job being done and you won't have the hassle and cost of setting up a system for what sounds like a pretty small job. A resin only system will be VERY expensive to run.


I do a lot of work like this for general cleaning companies on a sub basis and it works well for all concerned.

If you only want such a small amount of water each month, you might consider harvesting rainwater. For a very small investment in a rainwater diverter and a water butt, you get free water. And it's probably good enough to use without running through a DI unit.

A trolley will be somewhere near £500 or more. Quite an expense if you only use it once a month.

Or, sub it out.

If I were you, I wouldn't bother with a trolley because there is access to water onsite.

Instead, I would get:
-A 40 ft waterfed pole (about £230)
-A hose reel and hose (about £70)
-A resin vessel
(either one of the blue bottles refillable types like this:

or one that just fits directly to a tap like this one:
http://www.ionicshop.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=44&products_id=159 )

And thats all you need.

Simply connect the filter to the tap, and then connect the other end of the filter to the hose.
Reel out the other end of the hose reel to where the windows are and attach the pole and start cleaning.

Dead easy.
