Hi to everyone,
Thought I'd introduce myself if I'm going to use the forum. I've been window-cleaning full-time since October, mostly residential and all trad. I recently left the RAF after 22 years as a Firefighter and thought I'd carry on window cleaning instead of what is considered a more 'normal' job. I've been part-time for around 15 years on and off so I knew what I was getting into but the last few months have been a wake-up call ! I'm going to be a lot more organised next winter and have a decent winter fund tucked away. Still don't regret a minute, love the freedom, love working outside and love being completely responsible for my own success or failure. So here's to the next 20 years (if I'm lucky..I'm 46 now!).

I'm living and working in Hinckley, Leicestershire. I've returned home after many years of travelling, some of the places I've been to haven't been that pleasant so that was one of the considerations in leaving the Service. A few people were suprised that I left (I was offered 30 years !) but needed to offer my family some stability and I was sick of going away to holes in the desert.

Hi Martin, my name's Mark and I do trad but with poles instead of ladders. I hope it's going OK in your neck of the woods. The people on here are a wealth of information. There's a lot of camaraderie and I've picked up loads of useful tips. All the best with your new business

Hello Martin and welcome to the forum.....
As you are new here I've removed a swearword from your post rather than deleting the whole reply.
Admin are very much against any form of swearing I'm afraid, and that includes the use of asterisks in place of letters! :-\
Hope you enjoy the forum, there are some good guys on here and lots of useful information.
