hi all ,when doing my costing for a job do i show my contingency/profit on the bill i give the client

How long is a piece of string?

Some do, some don't.

If you're going to give a complete breakdown of the costs then by all means show the contingency/profit.

You may prefer just to give an overall price without any form of breakdown.

One of the great things about setting up on your own is that you have the freedom to run your business the way that YOU want to.

hi there,

when you submit some tenders, the client wants to see the cost breakdown, and even then you are going to load the costings to show a reduced profit in the tender document.

when you go shopping, you dont know how much profit they are making on a can of beans or a loaf of bread, so why should you be any different.

your profit is for you to know and enyone else to pay the apprpriate fee to companies house to get a copy of your accounts.

I always put it in the quote but don't see any point in putting it on the invoice.
