I can't seem to be able to buy the slx pole i want until february (slx 18/slx 22). So what would you guys advise to be a good alternative?

Id advise to be patient and wait for the slx, febs not far away,

I know, but patients is not one of my key attributes ::)
Plus I was thinking if they are not available until early feb, then when they are ready, and by the time I get it it will be nearly March, so was just seeing if there was a good alternative out there? But by saying what you have I think I will wait! :-\ as I don't want to make the wrong decision.

What size is it you wanting, if you can afford it id get the 25ft as youll reach all windows above cons and 3 town houses, I got 18ft and 25ft and find myself using the 25ft more often.

I know people who have used this pole and the flex is ment to be quite big, There is very little flex on the slx, I dont know what the facelift version is like but if you ring russel oxley im sure you could get a discount. But personally if you can wait for a slx id wait for it as ive regretted spending money on certain items in the past but not the slx.

Ive been waiting since November to buy a slx 18 for my mrs, i just cant understand for the life of me why there is always a vast shortage???

Everything about it makes it worth waiting for? very light, strong and the super lightweight brush glides over the glass effortlessly.
I have the SLX-25 and I wont use any other pole (unless my SLX brakes :'()

I only waited 2 days for my SLX, I did have to wait 2 weeks for the superlight weight dual trim brush though.

brodex alloy hydra is a good pole for the money good solid pole and fairly light to use whatever some guys say about weight and collapsed size i use the 18 ft for most of my work and find it far superior to the x-tel hybrid great pole also bought 24ft pole just after got both for the 18 and 24 ft for £273.00 in total

I don't really think there is an alternative to the slx, some come close but when you consider the full deal, weight, rigidity, closed size, extended size, price, it's in a league of it's own. If you have the cash go for the 25 and even take a section off when it's not needed, or just get a cheap pole for the time being.

If Alex has told you a definite date I'd wait. My 35ft SL-X is the only bit of kit I've spent a lot on and it has transformed my work.

Does anyone know if alex keeps spare sections of the slx in stock ? because if my pole broke I would not want to be waiting till feb to fix it.

Ordered a 25' alloy hydra and cut it down to about 20' making a shorter collapsed length, don't seem a bad pole, not as stiff or light as a slx obviously but very acceptable. much cheaper price and a 3 year guarantee.
Couple of local lads that got the slx over the last 6 months are having heavy wear issues with the slx, must say my 18 month old 25' slx aint bad but new one got different weave which you would think would be an upgrade but looks like it has increased wear rate, not good for a £400 pole.

Wait for the SLX - my SLX25 is the best purchase I've made.
I have reached all standard domestic windows with this pole.
I'm much less tired at the end of the day - have got more work done and thoroughly enjoy using it.
Mines fitted with a Super Lite Dual Trim Flocked brush.

I am looking to buy 2 new 25' poles. Although the SLX comes highly recommended I think I may give them a miss if the suppliers can’t supply,
Are Gardiner poles the only place to buy the SLX?
As Windowashers pointed out, what happens if you suddenly need spares? I don’t want to be in a position where I am losing money due to a poor supplier.

why have you cut it down when can remove sections as and when needed

Too long mate.
Perfect collapsed length for me now and still 20' ish :)

wait for a 35ft then just remove a couple of sections if you want a shorter version, the new clamps are the best out there so no annoying spinning sections.
buy a 35ft extel to see thru till slx comes in then you have it as a spare should you need one.
