Why are they so high? Looking for a cheaper supplier of brass hozelock elbows and several places sell them for a fiver plus another fiver for shipping. Does it really cost that much to pop an item in the post or are we being seriously ripped off all the time?

were been ripped off

If you live in the south of ireland shipping is 3x the normal price too. :(

cleantec have allways been great like that, if you need a small item, phone them up and i allways try and speak to the dad ( forget him name now ) and he just bungs them in a jiffi and i pay what the postage it
i have had the same deal with wintec aswell, spoke to the guy, said the postage is killing the deal and its a cost thing

I lately purchased some goods form wintec which proved faulty it cost me 97 p to return the goods and 4.95 for them to send them back. Now firstly they should sell faulty good and why should I have to pay for them to fix there problem. TO CROWN IT SO MUSH MORE THEN IT COST ME AT 97 P.I think the companies see postage as a way of making a profit and they can compete with companies that are cheaper due to there list price. They also charge me to call them up and above my mormal phone rate. I do not want to be petty.Markup is there to pay expences.

I had a conversation about this 2 days ago with the supplier of the tank heater I purchased (the 3KW one).
Anyway, what happened was it was faulty so I called them to return it and read there cancellations policy and terms on their site before speaking to anyone and they have a 25% returns policy.
I wasnt happy about having to pay that if the goods are faulty and they need returning through no fault of my own.
The guy explained their was no need for me to pay that in this instance as it wasn't my fault but if I wanted to return it as I had just changed my mind then the 25% fee would apply as in his words 'someone had to be paid to package and post the item'
