Hi
Can anybody recommend a local leaflet deliverer in Newport Gwent and also let me know what i would expect to pay, say per 1000 leaflets?
Is it cheaper if your leaflet is amongst other leaflets and is this worst as people chuck the whole lot away as junk mail.
Thanks

I find that delivering my own in the evening is better and on occasion, I get called back in the street to give a quote there and then! The best result was when I delivered about 150 leaflets and I managed to book 3 jobs in. So take your diary too ;)
Paying someone to deliver them is a gamble in my experience. I advertise in a local rag and I found a load of them dumped the other day ::) I did have a friends kids delivering for me and they were telling me people were approaching them to ask how much for a living room carpet to be cleaned etc etc... Of course the boys just requested they rang me.... Which they never did :(
Also, as you suggest yourself, if your leaflets amongst other leaflets they tend to get filed straight into the bin....

I would say expect 1 - 3 phone calls per thousand delivered. That is phone calls, not jobs!

Like many say its all about quantity i would say average price for solus delivery is between £35- 60 per thousand average return on leaflets say 2 jobs per thousand .
so to break it down say £12 per thousand for printing (a6) £40 for delivery avarage job price say £110
So £220 - 12 - 40 = £168
but remember you wont always get 2 per thousand those who use leaflets with sucess i am sure target drop repeatedly to get a good response . Its still a good form of advertising but its a case of getting all the parts right to make it work for you quantity , reliable dist, printing cost. Trying to get them out on your own is hard because you will only have time when you are not busy and then you get a stop start business. until i can find a good distrib its not worth me doin in any numbers.
but it really does work for some but i think you will find they have got all the boxes ticked

Thanks for the response guys. This is what i thiught. I did look at Royal mail but they want a minimum of £500 which would equate to around 8-12000 leaflets depending on weight then you have to give 6 to 8 weeks notice. Each additional 1000 leaftets then cost £59.
I have now found a delivery man @ £35 per 1000 which i think is very good.

David make sure your leaflets get dropped solus or responses will be poor. putting them in local advertising books also does not have the best response
