Title: Air Lock - Can you help

I have been wfp for a few months with no RO. My system was tank pump - varistream - two DI vessells - hose - pole which has worked fine. Reasonable water pressure.

I have now upgraded to a two man system and changed system to tank - two DI vessels - strainer- y piece -2x pumps - 2x varistream - 2x hose and pole. Problem is I think I have an air lock. I have recharged the battery - tried sucking air out of the pump outlet hose - checked all connections for leaks - still can't get rid of it. Minimal water pressure.

Any suggestion would be really helpful

only suggestion i have is to find a place where you can run out your hose reels to their fullest lengh and put the pump on full and then run the water through untill you have a full stream

It has happened to me a few times in the past and i have found that it worked for me

I have a truck mounted system and all our hose is always conected to the pump all the time , if thats the same as you , you might need to re reel them in under pressure to stop them from colapsing on them selfs

Post by: STEVE-UK on January 17, 2010, 06:59:43 pm: all you need to do is disconnect the outlet side of the DI, If that doesnt work then the outlet of the pump if still not working you have an air leak on the inlet side of the pump just tighten up connectors

I have exactly the same set up for 1 man. I once tried with DI's before pump though & had no end of problems with air getting in. I would revert back to pump being first in line.
