i know the main core of our business is window cleaning, i was just wondering what percentage of your time is spent clean patio driveways gutters etc, if you offer this service
as am think of getting a pertrol, jet wash and to start offering this service
-
i started the window cleaning business a few months back
have just invested in a driveway cleaning set up
in the few weeks in been running is almost paid for itself despite the weather
were dont only doing drives but cleaning lorry curtains caravans fascia soffits gutters and decking and bins
once the better weather kicks in it should be a winner
im now looking at a gutter vac as im getting a lot of inquiries for this service
im currently turning over more £££ with the paving set than cleaning windows
in fact just took on another fella just for the jet wash work
-
im getting together all the kit, have a honda powered petrol washer with washmatic for drives, got a x.line trolley for windows and looking at ordering vac off ebay for guttering, more services you can offer the more jobs you can afford to turn down, imo!
im starting up feb the 1st and want to get the ball rolling so by july i will be very busy and canvass like mad,im ready to get my leaflets printed and will advertise all services instead of putting all my eggs in one basket.

probably not to be honest.
if you seriously want to provide the service you should be looking to spend a few more pound.
i would at least say get something with a Honda or loncin ect engine.
you will then no it will be reliable and also have plenty of spare parts available.
buy cheap buy twice
only how i see it tho ;)

what sort of power will i need?
-
my honda cobra was £1200 with mossmatic but i know 6 days work and it will pay for itself.
-
fao rcs how are you pulling in the work for the driveway cleaning
-
i stick to window cleaning mainly as im more interested in a regular repeat income.i do gutter/conny roofs/fascias/soffit cleaning as extras in spring/summer though.
i would rather just concentrate on this work as u need to invest in more equipment etc and more hassle when u start needing pressure washers/bigger vans/higher overheads.better to keep it simple in my book! ;) ;D ;D
best wishes

leafleting
put out 5000 this side of the new year
pricing loads
doing a lot of decking and concrete paths and driveways
the gutter cleaning seems popular at the moment until i buy a vac just using ladder and hand tools
£2 meter
leafs seem to have blocked everything round here
averaging about 4 gutter cleans a day and about 2 pressure washing jobs
we leaflet about 3 roads a day
and get about 6 inquiries from this
plus the window cleaning
we use a 11hp washer with rotary surface cleaner excluding the truck washer rotary surface cleaner hoses fittings tank and small tools etc
i was up and running on this site of a grand
im charging £2/m concrete and £3/m for block paving clean and resand
generally custies seem happy to pay that
not touching block paving at the moment
waiting for the weather to turn
as have no hope of re sanding anything and wouldnt want to leave the joints open once cleaned for any period of time
