When i work trad i normally turnover £15 per hour or thereabouts.
If i took someone on ive been told id only turnover around £20-£25 per hour.
My average will probably increase now im converting to wfp.
The question is :
How much realistically would three lads turnover per hour
Trad.............
Wfp..............
-
shud do ,more than that
-
it the big question.
depend on what work
how close the work is together
what prices the list goes on
£15 hr trad is not badbut i say you need to up the price a little or speed up.
just a thought

three people wfp would lose time if all working out of same van if your cleaning domestics, would produce alot more if large commercial.
Have you thought about getting another van/car ?

just get yourself wfp , stay on your own for a bit see how you get on , you will get more per hour

Im picking more work up and sending canvassers out in next few weeks so was considering taking on someone when i get too much work to do myself.
When i come to the stage when theres too much work for 2 lads i was just thinking of taking on anpther lad to do work quicker or whether i should get another van
So a two man team is more efficient then a three man team?

sounds like ur pricing too low d.ward.is ur work not compact and spread out?
i earn £20-£25 an hour trad sometimes £30-£40 an hour on some work.im hoping when i go wfp ill be able to earn £30 an hour EVERY hour as my average hourly rate.i am upping my prices again in april as a lot of my work underpriced but quite alot(over half my round)is very compact.with wfp will come higher overheads so i need to at least cover the extra expense to start with.
i work on my own all domestic bar 3 small commercial jobs.
best wishes

i wouldnt even think about employing d.ward if i were you.
1.price higher on new work/up existing custys every year even if its only 50p
2.get organized with work and try and work 9am-430pm
3.with having wfp u should earn more after a few months once youve got round a few times and youve relearned your round.
the hourly rate ur talking about can easily be achieved over a period of time WITHOUT the hassle of employing.

My work is priced quite well i think its because im new to the rounds and customers i have a little chat with each one and try and get to know them alittle better.
This is me pacing along so maybe i can do more work if i put my head down and stop the chatting.
I cant wait to get using my wfp then i can see how much i can earn with that.
I said to myself yesturday that i wasnt going to have these chats but it was either me saying something to the customer or them talking about the weather. Hard to just walk away.
Whats your customers like for talking?
How do you get away?
-
of course i talk to my custys sometimes but most are out at work or busy working from home/housework etc.if they do come out for a chat i usually carry on working then say ive gotta go!time is money!bye! ;D ;D ;D
other times ill have a brew and lose half an hour! ::)not often though!i certainly wouldnt stand around chatting to every custy!with u just taking over the round maybe its good to get the custy relations going but u dont have to tell them ur life story! ;D ;D

Its normally the other way round.
I know about most of their children and grandchildren and the last window cleaner.
Its surprising what they know about their neighbours too. :)

We find that two working together will do more than two working individually, however if you add a third person to the equation the amount of work will not increase in line.
Basically, if doing trad you'll have one doing tops one doing bottoms, same with WFP, what does the third person do, they are forever asking "where next?" "have you done that one?".
You will make more than two working, but probably only 20% increase.

the quickest way i find for a team of 3 is....2 blokes with back packs doing tops..third bloke with a pointer doing bottoms (trad) and also doing the collecting, this saves water, keeps custie happy, and all the tops have dripped dry by the time the 3rd guy gets onto the bottoms.
alot of my custies were not keen on the pole when i switched but when i gave them all the speil about health and saftey etc they understood and seeing their bottoms getting done with soap n water kept em happy.
obviously the 2 on the packs get well infront so they just take it inturns doubleing back and helping out the 3rd bloke.
works for us 8)

theres a 3 man team in wrexham still up the ladder's , the boss ( old chap ) has 2 lads working like demons on piece work , while he collects the money, moves the car and does the office admin !!
they seem to have a smooth money making outfit , speaking to him he cant see wfp earning him more money as they run all down the road with him following in the car .
you going to need plenty of customer's for all three to make any good living . :o

I know it's not per hour but when i've worked in a three man group we've done around 375 wfp/trad mixed

There`s a 3 man team in Liverpool; Reina, Gerrard and Torres.
And 2 of them are usually on the sick.
