not quite so tidy & little concerned with proximity if l5 to petrol tank. Maybe more of an issue in the summer when more vapour.

I think thats the best looking setup Ive seen, well done.
Tell me something though Nat, aren't you meant to have the gas stored in the van in a separate compartment?

In the UK I'm told it might be a requirement,.. in Ireland I checked it out & was told it's fine, technically I don't even need the warning stickers!

isnt that just when its connected up and turned on when travelling
as loads of plumbers have them in the back of the vans
-
Good info and a seperate section for hot wfp on the mgwc forum site.

Really?
Anyone confirm that?

Same with camper vans surely?
I used to have a VW years ago that had the gas cylinder under the cooker. Had to make sure it was turned off on ferries and when driving through tunnels. Things might have changed since then though.

i thought it was discussed last year
look at any plumbers van, they just have them in the back of the van
-
Yes its true Matt, they do just have them stood their doing nothing, fixed perhaps for when theyre driving.
So whats this business about venting them L5s?

Try this http://www.bcga.co.uk/preview/publications/L12005.pdf

well they burn gas and the fumes need to go somewhere, thus need to be vented
though you would be fairly happy driving along with the fumes
-
Is it a legal requirement though, I have the windows open 90% of the time.
-
looks like they ok to just be chucked in the back reading that pdf , its more geared up for lorry full's of the stuff -my dad was a hazard goods lorry driver and its the sort of this he would have to abide by.
if you go and pick one up from b-q , garden centre etc with the car you just stick it in the boot ... ;D
-
Nathanael, is that a copper pipe on the hot output? What connectors have you used?
-
http://www.practicalcaravan.com/legal/index.html
Carrying gas cylinders
Regulations relating to the use of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) in vehicles on the public highway require the gas to be shut off at the cylinder when no appliance is in use. While the vehicle is in motion, no gas appliance should be in use. Special restrictions apply in certain road tunnels, the Channel Tunnel and on ferries. DO check before setting off.

Its a flexi hot pipe from B&Q,.. not essential by any means, but I had one in the shed so I decided to use it. After that short pipe its minibore all the way.

OK, I went there today looking for a quick fix to get it set up over the weekend, but decided to save loads by ordering bits online!
For the water in, I was going to get a hozelock tap adapter and connector, but now I am wondering whether this would work instead: Its a Shurflo 1/2 barbed wingnut straight fitting £2.22 (normally on out side of shurflo pump)

And for the gas, the US regulator that came with the L5 has the correct fitting at the heater end of the hose, so did you just cut the black hose off and jubilee clip it onto the UK regulator?
Thanks

Normally a bit tidier,.. but yep, pole hose hanging off the brush is handy for me.
