Ive just been quoted £406 to supply and fit a shock absorber and a wishbone, £240 for wishbone and£165 for shockabsorber for my Nissan Primaster does this sound right cheers.
-
Gordon Bennett I did my wishbone in last week, did you hit a kerb.
I paid £58 for the wishbone incl VAT and £51 to fit it. Didnt do my shocks though, how fast were you going?
I have a vauxhall combo.
Then I also paid £30 to have the it 4-wheel aligned to check nothing else was out.
You may need to look at the sub-frame.

Matt the van is 3 years old this is the first time ive had to get it MOT just seems a lot of money he also said the windscreen wipers need replacing i told him there only 5 months old he asked who fitted them i told him Halfords he said they get this all the time and said Halfords windscreen wipers wont pass a MOT the guy was a tosser.
-
Why does he think the wishbone needs changing if you havent had an accident?
They bend under stress. I hit a kerb and the front wheel was pushed back 2 inches on the side of the wheel that hit the kerb.

Even if you did hit the kerb and damage it this garage is trying to charge way over the odds.

nissan parts are quite expensive, but they shouldnt be that expensive.
pick a wishbone up off ebay for about fifty quid
and [2] rear shocks about seventy quid, front shocks are a bit more expensive though
-
How long should it take to fit a wishbone and front s/absorber they must be charging some amount for labour.
-
im guessing his labour charge is somewhere in the regions of 60-90 per hour
