I've done the outside of a town centre office building early this morning, I'm back home waiting for Wor Lass to finish hoovering and then we're both off to do the insides of another office building (OCS do the outsides), then I'll see what the weather's like.
I'm feeling a bit lazy to be honest; its tough getting back into a good routine after so much time off.
-
im going to give it till 930am , warm up a bit more
-
High winds an torrential rain here,... at least its washed away the snow,...
-
just had to cancel my biggest monthly clean on a massive country estate ( 2 day job ) hopefully get to it wed/ thur but still got lots of snow and ice here and with a lot of my work in the sticks it means I have to wait that little bit longer.
still all this time off has given me a chance to catch up on Quincey is there nothing that guy cant solve in the nick of time ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Work in the 'sticks' is awkward, isn't it? I've a whole load that's due but I don't want to drive up there only to find I can't get there, or at least I can't get to certain properties (because I will be able to get to some of them).
Ah well, I'm sure the weather is better for next week.

I did a "nearly" full day yesterday and I'm off now to do a "nearer" full day today. You are certainly right about feeling lazy. Its easy to see how these Chavs get used to sitting at home all day on benefits. I used to say I could never be like that but I'm not so sure now.
If we lived somewhere with lots of snow every year this would be normal.
-
been out since 4.30am just finshed 9.00 am all comercial ;D
got a few quotes today to do though
:)

According to my van thermometer the temperature has now climbed to zero so I will be out there by 10.

When it reaches 10! You'll have a very long wait, Paul! About mid March, I reckon... ;D
-
Still lots of snow here but temps are rising. I'm going to try doing 11 till 3 today.
-
We woke up to a broken water main, which meant that not only was our water off but my daughters school at the end of our road so she can't go in untill later. As the only adult in the house at the moment my work is yet again delayed!
-
Nope. Do not have any bungalows or shops only houses. I am not going out until the snow has gone as after one fall in the last year I do not want another. Going to buy a LadderM8rix Ladder Base Anchor so Next time we have this I can carry on.
-
no not me to icey on drives and pavments , will try again tomorrow .
-
I did a 7am till 9am today on some offices, threw rocksalt on paths where water dripped. Full day yesterday and full day for
tomorrow and Friday. Just can't wait for it to stop freezing over night.
Simon.

Your lucky ive not worked one hjour since dec 18.
Still icy here but roads are thawing but paths and pavements are ridiculous.
Cant wait for it to end. Ive got around £800 in payments to go out before jan 25.
Next year will be different. This has turned me into more of a saver now...................
Im putting £25-£50 a week away for emergencies etc not been much of a saver but no more

I'm in Cheshire and would have been out yesterday after I'd defrosted all my equipment, but then the pcb board on my Shurflo backpack gave up the ghost and I was knackered again. Now waiting for Citylink to put me out of my misery.
I cleaned a community centre this morning though to dust off the cobwebs.

I`m considering getting one but don`t like the sound of that. I fancy a backpack but think a trolley maybe more reliable.

Can you rewire by passing the pcb and replacing with a basic switch and simple bypass ?

Did a full day, but some roads were single track with 6ft drifths of snow. And the roads were like an ice rink.
On one road took me about 20 mins to get the van moving as it was sliding from side to side and going no where. ;D
Lets have some rain ;D

;D . Well I did get out there around 10 o'clock in the end. It wasn't the most productive of days as working was tricky and energy sapping in those conditions. I lost an hour through getting stuck on some ice. It was a very gentle slope but I just couldn't get off it. Luckily my customer has a Landrover and pulled my van out (better not put his price up next year ;D ). This made me a bit more wary of slopes. Fortunately I'm in a very flat part of the country known as The Weald. It's a plain between the north and south downs. Lesson learnt, a bit later I did another job and ran the hose a long way from the road at the end. One good thing about this weather is that trip hazard is vastly reduced because a lot of people just aren't going out and the footpath had loads of snow on it. I had another job with flat roof access but the climb point was from icy decking so I just wrote a bill for a reduced amount and left the bit above the roof.
I'm very happy to have taken £126 from a day that was very difficult at times which had a late start, downtime in the middle, and a bit of motivation difficulty later on.
It wasn't the greatest start either. I had a cancellation letter from a customer. Not a huge deal. It was a £13 job and, in truth, if it were a new job I would be asking £15 anyway. But they are reliable payers and never mess me about so I would have been happy to carry on doing it for £13.

i did a similar figure but only done 2-3 hours as was really cold today and misus helped me and was cold quick, but still happy as got some good money in yesterday so alls well again
