In washing machine little powder and NO softner.
I dry in the tumble dryer, I find they come out softer in a tumble dryer.

Similar to Matt,

Wash in the washing machine and dry hanging them up in the airing cupboard.

Rough 'em up a bit. May be worth using as sill cloths for the first 2 washes. They often need breaking in.

just put them in the washing machine with no soap, enough in them already.put on high temp and just wash.

my machine can play up if theres to much soap coming out of the scrim, reason i dont put any more in.

Do not tumble dry. They are softer but I find they dont dry the glass as quick

Don`t expect to be able to use them straight away. They need breaking in.

w/c i know uses jet wash at petrol station ;D

sounds funny but reckons they come up great.

My mrs don't like me putting scrims in w/machine says it makes machine smell.

As i'm wfp don't use scrims too much and tend to throw away.

But might give em a blast with the petrol station jetwash, see what happens.

got a few old smelly scrims now :D
