got a inverter 110 battery to power a 500 watt heater got told only would work for half hour useless talking to my mate whos ace sparky said use a split charger hes going to fit this should work well ;D :-\

What loading is that going to put on your alternator - too much would be my guess.
I think you are barking up the wrong tree with this inverter lark, they draw masses of power, especially with a heater attatched.
It will end up costing you a fortune.

ive got one that trickle charges my backpack for emergencies, i dont think they are powerful enough to run anything else especially a big heater

I run one of these in my van.
It is a 1000 watt one and I have two leisure batteries set up to a very heavy duty split charge relay.
If I put the microwave on in the van it will exhaust both batteries in less than 18 minutes.
As has been mentioned this is not the way to heat your gear!!!

Hi firefly123,
Currently running two 135 watts tubular heaters from an 800 watt inverter on a split relay. This gives me enough heat to prevent system from freezing over night by plugging into mains. If the day is cold I plug heaters into inverter only when the engine is running. Hope this helps.
