Hi all
I`m off on my holidays next week, 2 weeks of sun, sand and beer. But when i get back i`ll have to employ someone to help with the round, what would be considered a good hour/rate, I try to work on 10 to 15 p/h for myself, but for someone else, sorry no way i could afford that as well. I would like to. So what rate should i go for.
Any advice welcome Thanks Michael D

All depends on age.
I would personally pay.....
School leaver 5.50 p/h
18-25 6.00 p/h
25+ 7.00-7.50 p/h

I think £10-15 is low you need to have a look at some tips on here, get it up to £15-£20, then pay someone a %.
If you need help then send me a personal message or leave your e-mail.
Hope you enjoyed your holiday.

Are you looking for a full time worker or just help after your hols? If you employ a novice you will spend all your time checking and correcting their work and you will probably fall even further behind for a while, remember how bad we all were when we first started!

I always pay them on a % basis and the % depends on there experience.

Hi Central, I too do this, i find if you pay a good % you can retain better staff, if they get a low % they soon get bored, and you have the problem of re training.
I had a guy work for me, out of the days takings i gave him 40%.
He was a fantastic worker, he now has a business of his own and uses a similar method.
The guy that works with me now is on the same basis, I know he wont be going anywhere, and I know I wont have to train a sucsession of new cheap staff.
Pay peanuts, get monkeys
