If you employed someone, how would you pay them?
My thinking is put someone on minimum wage PLUS bonus.
Not everyone has the same work rate/speed.
And not everyone takes pride in their work, and also if they know their being paid per hour, they may drag a job on longer than neccesary. I know this because i was an electrician for 6 years, and i would "drag" a job on as long as i could get away with. I was being paid in the regions of £11 an hour, and milked it for what it was worth... which is probably why in my 6 years of being a sparky i got "paid off" quite a few times.
When i was in a tight spot, ie; paid off from job, savings ran out, couldnt afford to run car so used RED DIESEL.... I was caught with it while out poaching for my food. As i was that skint, it had to be done.
Long story - short i was fined £520 for the cherry diesel, learned my lesson etc...... i didnt have the money so got a generous offer from a family member. The following weekend i had a phone call from a local scaffolding firm. I took the job to repay the family member
Anyway, from my £11p/h electrician job to a £6.50p/h scaffy job, my heart wasnt really in it. Till i discovered we were paid on a BONUS scheme, ie; GET THE JOB DONE, GET MORE MONEY
Anyway back to topic 8)
How do you pay your staff? Do you offer "incentives" ? so they get the work done quicker, and make you more£££
