i am ex army and if anybody finds it offensive i do. however we cant have a society that decides what is right or wrong. then turn the cards and say no to one point of view and not to another. thats what makes us better than the other man. so dont quote things you dont understand.
if however everybody just ignored this so called march it would end in nothing.
but thats not going to happen as we are all human and we the ones that dont want it to happen will make sure it does.
the bnp gained more support from anyone stating against their case about being on tv
my puncutation isnt the best this time of night but i hope you see my point

I agree more with Matt actually, crawly bumlick that i am. Let the old war hero's and the bereaved wives, sons and daughters kick the crap out of them. But before that, beg sky news to attend ;) Am i going back on my initial thoughts here? :o

there is nothing more than i would like to see is the resident battalion in full riot gear disallowing the said parade. but its not going to happen. and by the way i dont think the said parade will happen either. if it does i would love it if the media just blanked it completely, as i am sure they have in the past

This is a difficult one.
On the one hand we have our brave and wonderful young men and women being sent to fight a war not of their making and not of their choosing. Nevertheless, they are acquitting themselves with honour and sadly many of them are being killed. We want to honour these youngsters and support their grieving families and friends. We do it by standing in silent respect and saluting them as their bodies are brought home.
This is our country and our right. We should support our fighting forces, just as they support us.
On the other hand, there are those living in our land who claim citizenship, but whose nationalistic, ethnic and religious loyalties lie elsewhere. They see our fighting forces as being sent to repress those to whom they feel ethnic or religious kinship. They resent the slaughter of Afghanis and Iraquis as being a crusade against Islam.
They have the right to have their views.
But Wootton Basset isn't the place to air their views and public demonstration isn't the way to do it.
By protesting in Wootton Basset, they would be implying that it is our fighting forces who are to blame for the deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq. It isn't. It is the fault of the politicians who sent them there.
If they really wish to protest, they should do it in London, where the politicians are. Not in Wootton Bassett, where the dead British victims of the fighting are brought home.
These people really do need to be sensitive to the feelings of the people who make up the vast majority their host nation and the brave people in our armed forces of whatever ethnicity.
If this demonstration goes ahead, it will do no one any good and can only sow the seeds of hatred.
And I can say with absolute certainty that if any Brit tried pulling a similar stunt in Pakistan or Iraq, they wouldn't stay alive very long. They would be ripped limb from limb - and very likely by the police.
And, yes. That is what makes our society morally and ethically superior to theirs.
-
what I want to know is who is going to foot the police bill for the massive security such a demonstration will require ? oh that will be us
Hitler will be turning in his grave if he knew just how easy it is to take over this country
and the poor people of this country who gave their lives during the 1st and 2nd world wars will be turning in their graves seeing how polititions are undoing everything they fought for

You arrogant tosser
why because i didnt agree with you.
people have the right to protest on whatever they want and thats what makes our society better than certain others. i am totaly against the march but when it boils down to it, they have as much right to protest as the next group.
however my opinion is this whole march should be ignored and the media should do the right thing and completely blank the march and not give them the publicity they are getting
