hi folks at the mo my round is all domestics but am looking to also add a few commercial jobs,i went out today to give a quote for one of these,i was asked to send the quote through together with my liability and insurance details which is fine,but they also asked for me to send references from a couple of other commercial jobs,now because all my round is domestics at the moment i have no available references for commercial work.how do you get round this,everyone must have been in the same situation at some stage how did you get past it? ???thanks in advance and happy new year folks :D

get some references from your domestic customers and give these to the person asking for references, if it is a large job you may have to try and sweet talk your way into the contract

just tell them the truth mate, if you havent got any commercial contracts just tell them,  explain your round is domestic but your now branching out and just want a chance.

athough you could say you did a load of woolworth stores and MFI stores but there all closed down

Hi brett,
             Make some references up as they don't check them anyway and if they do put a contact number of a friend on the reference, You've got to bulls**t sometimes to get your foot on the ladder (pardon the pun ;D)
