hi all,
im looking into buying a 4040. currently running 2x150 gpd ro (ro-man) water in at 350-370, water out at 10-12, producing 1000 litres in 12 hours (dont ask me how, nobody can work this out, but it does)
what 4040 do you have? hf4, hf5
what is tds in and out?
how much water does it produce?

Hf5 4040, Very new so may not be run in??
310 in - 8-10 out
45 psi after pre filters, Not boosted, 140 ltrs ph atm.

Hi...have got a HF5 reason I have around 50psi pressure so this membrane is very suited to that pressure.
TDS in is between 260 and 380 depending...and out between 12 & 6 then into 1st di vessel then into second di vessel...out at 0.
As for output...bit hard to say as the temps make such a difference.
If you really need more information give June at Gaps Water Treatment a bell....not a lot she cannot help with.

Dear Ian,
Thank you for your enquiry.
With regards to your first question..... All DI resins are mixed bed resins,
and all tend to have a similar life span. From our range we recommend the
ResinTech Mag DI mixed bed resin.
Your system looks to be running okay - it should be running with at least
70% to waste on a single membrane system so as long as the 3:1 is with 3
going to waste that should be fine. Although you might hope for a better
tds with a pumped system we often find that it is the case that customers
only achieve about 90% -95% - this is because although the pressure is
increased it does not necessarily pump through enough water for the membrane
to work efficiently. In conclusion unless you've seen a dramatic rise in
your permeate tds over the last 12 months (bearing in mind that the cold
weather causes tds to go up and production to go down) I'd say it is working
within parameters. It is a good idea to keep a log of the running figures
from your RO system so that you can see if your membrane is starting to
fail. Membranes do tend to have a shorter life when used with a pump so it
is worth keeping an eye on.
