Title: Fuel prices
Post by: windowcleaninginessex.co.uk on January 06, 2010, 01:20:57 pm
Fuel prices whats going on?
I don't usually check prices as I always fill up at the same place near me, Sainsburys, Rayleigh Weir in Essex. I filled the van up this morning and the price was £1.10 per litre, bit expensive, I thought.
So I looked through my receipts I normally fill up every 6 or 7 working days but because of christmas and the weather the last time i filled up was on the 20th December and the price per litre was £1.02. That is extra 8p per litre in nearly 3 weeks.
The thing is if we want to work there is nothing we can do about it.
Little rant over....
Darren

Thank gordon brown for the tax hike as that is the reason for the price increase.

Has anybody noticed that the price difference between petrol and diesel has almost shrunk to 1p?

try using cleaned & filterd veg oil. Remember in cold weather use 30percent veg 70percent diesel as if you use too much veg oil you will find it wont heat up enough so you will be push starting the van.

your allowed to use 2400litres [i think, dont quote me on it] per year without having to declare it.

Last time i travelled from cumbria to norfolk & back, i used £30 diesel and a barrel of veg oil cost me £10

so a 600mile or more round trip cost me forty notes  ;D and the only down side was the smell of a chippy made me hungry

I would of thought it would be the hike in VAT, and when fuel tax goes up the garages usually put on 2p per litre too

Yep the government have stitched us up again, when they reduced vat last year they did not drop the price of fuel because they had frozen duty for a while ( so they tell us ) but when vat went up the other day instead of leaving it well alone they just add more on top to the price of a litre......Thank you so much Mr Brown
