It's Johnny Coyle's Dad's boys out for a shine before they clear that hotel car park.

My old WC is out this morning. Didn't see anyone footing his ladder. He's an old pro been at it for years he obviously feels comfortable in what he is doing. Although you should have seen the looks he was getting from passing pedestrians.

Thing is he only charges £3 - £4 so is it really worth it. He ain't short of a bob, has a nice 4 bed house in what is a pretty affluent area of Bolton. Has 14 Property's he rents (So rumour has it) So why risk it?

I've not worked now since 18th Dec and looks very unlikely I'll be out until mid next week. Like many other's I made plans in the summer to crack on with the work and put some aside for day's/ weeks like this.

This could now be a hard learning curve for those who are now feeling the pinch and are getting worried as how they are going to pay the rent next week.

It's not just WC on ladders though. Saw a Builder the other day working on some gutter. A bloke leaning on the ladder, not footing it properly. ladder angle was more like 4 - 3 not 4 -1 and placed on pavement full of compact ice. Craaaaaaazy!!!!!

I will tell you what might be wrong with that. If there is 5 inches of snow everywhere and they are using a ladder unless the clear the pavement first there is no way they can possibly be sure what they are putting the ladder on if however they are clearing the ground with shovels first then thats fine.

anyone who gets behind with the rent cant u just phone up ur landlord and let him know and pay double next month/week?

on topic its up to them if they want to work in this! ::)i wouldnt personally but nearly every week i see wcs/painters/odd job men etc using ladders in a dangerous way .makes me cringe sometimes but hey!its up to them if they want to break their necks! ::)
