Title: how will this snow & ice affect your year?
Post by: pingu on January 06, 2010, 08:59:07 am
Given that most here are affected by these current conditions and some have not really worked much since the latter part of Dec...

How will your perceptions and actions change in the New Year?

For me:
=====

Working year -  44 weeks between mid Feb and mid Dec (anything else is a bonus).

Not 'scrub' a day until midday.

Regardless of wind/rain etc, etc...leave the house as normal and then make decisions.

Fill in gaps on 8 weekly cycle..37 more accounts at average rate needed.

So what have you learnt this year and what changes wil you make to you business this coming year.

Cheers
Dave.

I am having a major push with plastic cleaning this year...you know fascias, soffits, gutters etc....i have been pushing this hard and now realise this is a great potential service that could turn into a stand alone business...so that's where my efforts will be aimed at.

I reckon we'll lose a complete month with about 40% of our residential customers

Pj...lost 40%...do you mean as a result that you cannot clean them...or that you have too much work and you'll dump the 'not required' work?

Cheers
Dave.

If this bad weather goes on through next week I will leave the 4 weeklys and just do the 8 weeklys till the week after next - thats if it clears up by then and then start the 4 weeklys from beginning of feb - this way it wont affect my rota just means I lose money for this month from my 4 weeklys
thats the plan at the mo see what happens!
