its a deadly game we are playing at the moment, pouring water all around a customers house... in conditions which cause it to freeze within minutes...
If anything happens to a customer, even with ice already on the ground... what are the chances of the window cleaner being blamed?
Just a thought.
With those customers with hardly any ice around their property... you can bet your bottom dollar they will have ice after we have left.
even with salt down ...well its that cold.
Now that is a dangerous game we are playing.
Dont you think guys?

Salt EVERYTHING!

im not playing been sat at home all day,to dangerous to walk on the packed ice that is already down :(
-

i didnt get a drop on the floor honest. :P :P :P :-* :-*
-
I've used over 50kg of salt since the cold snap started,.. & thats with tradding more windows than normal. But you have to be sensible, if its dangerous then call it a day. :(
-
no dangerous game for me
stay at home and do something less interesting instead
-
I'm going outside for a while and may be gone some time
-
Damned if you do, Damned if you dont.
Get water on the ground.... it freezes customer sues.
Put salt on the water..... Customer complains as it ruins their lawn/plants/ or whatever else they can think of.
Dont turn up... Customer moans that you are unreliable.
Get a hot water system...... break the windows
put anti freeze in the water....... kill the planet.
Go trad..... fall off your ladder.
Did I miss anything?

Havn't done anything since 18th Dec. No chance of doing any domestic around here. Can hardly walk on the pavements and most side roads are death traps.
Havn't had the bins emptied since 16th Dec. Three full bins plus xmas rubbish, looks like I'm off to the tip tomorrow dont think they will be round this Wednesday either. Snowing heavy again at the moment and looks to be at it all day tomorrow.
Nice when it came down for a day or to to give the kids some real Christmas atmospher, but really fed up of it now.

Like the adverts on TV say " Had a slip, trip or fall that wasn't your fault, contact Injury Lawyers 4 you" then you see a big fat cheque for £7500 being handed over and he didn't even have to go to court.
Its just after Christmas and money is tight...... But we all have lovely custy's that wouldn't dream of sueing us...... Don't we.
-
ROFL...So how it is going to get upstairs clever dick ;D
-
Yes. We are cleaning pro's at the cutting edge ain't we?
This is one thing i got right, very right in fact.
Common sense tells you this can't work in the same way that cleaning windows with water and leaving them wet can't work.
Earn yourself some brownie points with the missus (she won't believe it will work either), and get one. She must have a birthday coming up?
Upstairs? you just put it up there, it will not fall.
It will not hoover the stairs, but that is the only thing.

No chance of me using wfp in this weather the last thing I want is someone slipping on ice because of it and getting a claims direct etc on my case

Make sure you judge the length of the drop properly; its safer to err on the side of longer than shorter.

I know it's not very professional outlook.
But how can custy prove you made floor wet, they slipped because of you.
surely it a bit of a punch and judy argument.
Oh yes you did!
oh ni i didn't!
Joke is by putting all that salt as said by others your admitting to a problem.
Surely people have the sense to watch their footing in these conditions?
