Hope you don't have to get up Detling hill in the morning Dave :D

I got up this morning at 7am looked out the window and the roads were just about clear, went back to bed, got up again just after 9am and there was 3" of fresh snow outside. Got three jobs on tomorrow and one is in the middle of nowhere!!!
Just heard on the radio that the A1086, which is our main road north-south has been closed and we're on the coastline, hate to think what it's like further inland.
Instead of a day at the shops we've spent it taking down all the Christmas decorations instead.

Blue sky here in Kent methinks frost tonight >:(
Ian we've? Is that the royal we've I normally keep a very low profile ;)

We had a surprise flurry of snow yesterday morning. Think it caught thegritters by surprise coz they were nowhere to be seen and the roads were as slippy as hell. Only about a inch fell though. Clear bluesky here in Birmingham so think its gonna be a cold night.

Blue skies and sunshine here in north Cheshire, even tho its only been about 1 degree.
Heater on in van virtually all day for the last couple days, and tonight I expect to be very cold -5

No I dont but even if its not snowing I dont want to go that way. I hate that traffic.
I assume you are from chatham somewhere abouts.
I have sold my 4x4 l200 and looking urgently for a van now so even more useless.
Luckily my contracts have all the equipment is on site. I will be using my Jaguar tomorrow.

Len,
Possibly I was enhancing my status somewhat when I used the possessive verb "we've", I actually meant was, I went into the loft and got the boxes down then put then back again when they were filled! :D
-
No Dave, Margate, but do alot or work in the Weald and thereabouts so have to take that route alot.
Pete

Wow, you dont mind the traveling then Pete.
I dont envy you there.
Maybe if you dont mind the traveling, if I get work I could pass it on to you Pete. Or maybe you rather I not do that.
I dont really know any carpet cleaners.
Except one that has a TM and I wouldnt say I think he is wonderful.
Dave

Its not been that bad over in Nort Wales but the tmp is down to minus 3 at the moment and still dropping. I think it will be our coldest night yet.
I will have to go and put the heater in the van now. :(
-
Yeah I get about a bit Dave.
We might be able to help each other out from time to time. Drop me an email with your number and I'll give you a call in the week.

I have sent 3 cleaners to Shap this morning, which is adjacent the highest point of the M6, it is generally
5 degrees colder there than any other part of M6. Fingers crossed they will make it. It put down a few inches last night, would expect Shap to be 4-5 ".
Heater in van, set at 6 degrees , supply pump froze other night, it is next to side door, which seems to be coldest part of van..

We are in a small nort Yorks village and the snow is as bad here as i have seen in years.
Moved todays work and going accross to local for lunch.
Every snowy cloud has a silver linning.
though straight after xmas when we are really busy does tick me off.

One reason I like a fan in the back of the van as well as heat - more likely to circulate the heat to all parts of the van, hopefully including corners.
If I use the oil filled rad type heater I stick a little desk fan in as well.

We had about 2 inches of snow this morning. Its just started to snow again but very light. Just checked local weather for next 24 hours. Its saying that between 3pm - 6pm were gonna have heavy snow then light snow through till about 6am tomorrow.
Richie.

My dad got back to Manchester on Sunday after spending Christmas and New Year with my brother in Canterbury Kent. He said during that time they had no snow at all just a few days of rain, whilst us in Lancs had been snow and ice covered throughout.
