So 2010 is here and once again it's time to think about the future year that is upon us...

What work wise are your ambitions?

As always, 10% more than last year which is realistic and do able. I had wanted to double my hourly rate but have been told this is not possible, we will have to see.
Healthy  8) new Year to you as well

Happy New Year Pingu and all forum members

My plan is to double my customer base.  Sounds optomistic but i don't have that many at present so not a steep hill.   Just need enough to to top my pension up and keep the wolves from the door.  Would like to do more but have to consider the physical apsect now I'm heading for 63.

I reckon there's a brilliant opportunity for younger guys who aren't workshy and are prepared to offer a professional service - just wish I'd taken the plunge years ago - instead of having my head messed up in sh*t management positions in international companies.

Similar situation to John or though not age wise. ;)

I work full time and trying to get wc business off the ground. So my target is to become full time wc and then progress from there.

Good luck John and to everyone else who ha high hopes for this year.

will only equivalate to 4 days work a week and a week with 2-3 days

will see what next step is once there if i want to smash the limit as it will mean me taking a back seat on the work then i think to build and have staff but happy working with a helper for now

Concentrate on the other side of my business, carpet cleaning. Don't want to expand the WC side of it, big market for carpets here.

I intend to have a 30% increase in turnover over last year month on month by mid summer.  That may not be sustainable in winter because I work most daylight hours when nature allows - so possibly a 20% increase in turnover throughout the year.  I'm slightly up on the same period last year so far but can do a lot better.

3) Once 2 vans are running hit the commercial market
4) Set a target for turnover to reach £100,000 pa

i have only just started out and im only part time as im still laying brick when i get the opportunity.
i think even if i could build myself a round that would bring in £400pm along with my building work, i would be more than happy ;D

IM really looking forward to springtime - with a big push im going to double my round then drop all the crap/sour faces and then go with the flow

got to be careful that i dont over-egg it though. i got befriended in the summer by a man who had built up an 800 strong round ,with 2 assistants helping but then they quit and he was struggling badly to cope, with constant new wasters who wont stick it more than a fortnite helping him . i dont want to end up like him !
