Yes. A flocked brush would be a must to prevent scratching. Was thinking the same thing. People may expect to pay well for it too.....

I dont believe this is true I contacted a manafacturer of these panels a year or so ago cos i was asked to clean some by a custy of mine the answer I got was cleaning of these was generally not needed as it made no difference to the actual heating system , the suns ultraviolet rays still heat up the water inside them weather there green with dirt or looking like new, I was also told that if any cleaning was nessecary it would only be for asthetic reasons

Chris I thing they were spinning you sales pitch. As one can think dirt would filter the rays of the sun and create shade on the panels. Just now that same company will be offering a solar valet service for extra cash , I think there is an opportunity

Allowing solar panels to become dirty can greatly diminish your solar power output by as much as 30 percent . In other words, you are not getting the production you paid to get. If solar panels are never cleaned you lose not only a significant amount of power, you also risk damaging the panels themselves.

this is what i'm going to use in my add ;D

Me too. ;)

Don't need cleaning! That's what my friends told me about their new conservatory roof. They were most annoyed when I told them it would be green within the year.

Solar panels, same. They need scrubbing.

(Typical costs for inspection and cleaning plus output testing of PV modules
is approximately £350 - typical costs for cleaning, inspection and testing
the transfer medium of a solar thermal system is similar at around £375).

just goes to show there must be a market out there to clean them  ,its a case of advertising now to get started ,might take some time but im sure it will work and when it does i will be ready for it.
I still think solar power is at its birth stage if that makes sence , not to many have it yet but the way everyone goes on about global warming  i think the goverment will make a big thing out of it .
like they did over house insulation and every one needs it
in america and oz its what they all do ,so just a matter of time over here,so its worth the effort i think.
