I just looked at the Tesco Van insurance comparison site and for a 2004 Scudo 1.9TD value £4K with 3 seats and no trailer towing cover it put up a company called Gladiator just under £1000 for a fictitious 23 yr old named Michael Mouse residing at my address in Bristol with no ncb, no convictions and for a self employed window cleaner trading for 5 years.

On Third Party Fire and Theft it showed £750

Strangely, Third Party only was a different co at a grand.

Have you tried changing insurance companies each year.  They don't like admitting it but they do tend to give more attractive deals to new customers - meaning that staying with the same company is often more expensive.

Try evan http://www.evaninsurance.co.uk/ they were very good, i was 23 and had 2 vans for less than a grand, pug partner 98 and a 03 vivaro. I do have no claims since i was 17 though. I think i was paying about £300 in the end for just the vivaro at 23  ;)
