A custy rang me after he spilt coffee all over his cream wool rug on Boxing Day..... I arrived this morning to find a note on his door asking me to just go in and crack on and he'll be back shortly.....
I decided (After a quick search through the CIU archives) to use premium fine line, aggitated with the old "Perky" then set up the porty, giving an ample dwell time and extracted......
Result...... Astonishing, apart from a really light patch being left in the worst area which the custy told me that he was happy with.....
I asked the custy what attempts he had made to clean it and he apologised for having done "Nothing"..... I believe this is the very action that made my job so much easier today. :D

are you sure it was wool ,as I have never had much success with coffee or tea stains on wool.

100% Wool.... Exactly the same make as our wool rug and the label on the back said so too!
I didn't hold out too much hope to be honest Neil, but usually I get the job where the coffee stain's been there for years..... A none starter in most, if not all cases!!!!

Do you think it may of come out with just a col water rinse or do you think that the micro splitter worked.
Ps i have had good results with micro splitters in the past.

Vanish soap works a treat some of the time as a pre treat, depending on what coffee it is, have used a few times before cleaning carpet and worked very well..

You've opened a whole new can of worms there :-X
If I may make a suggestion though. Our industry has a loathing for anything to do with the word vanish ;D So try another brand.
I frequently use a problem solver similar to yourself. It's a different brand and named after the younger (and better looking) of the Bolton Brothers/Sister clan. It's called Green Boltonite and has been sprinkled with some magic Fairy Dust ;)
It probably wont fit in though with many colleagues who've grown up in the micro-chip age :o
Safe and happy cleaning :)

What's wrong with good old fashioned Carbolic then? I remember my Granny telling me about it.
For these "fresh" stain's I've had good results using a liberal amount of M/S. Allow to dwell (Yes I know their supposed to be instant) and extract.

Wouldn't know Adrian. Never tried Carbolic. I've always had the Green Boltonite (Fairy) available to me. The grey bearded Bolton brother uses a pink household soap and Madge Bolton uses Sunlight (yellow) household soap.
If it works for you, why change?
Safe and happy cleaning :)

Reminds me of the time I used some Milton sterilizer to lighten a very badly coffee/ tea stained off white carpet tile - scarey but it worked.
