your machine may clear light obstructions but not good enough for most jobs, drain cleaning machines run at about 40ltr a minute or more, also to provide a proper service you would need camera equipment etc to survey drains for colapses etc, i did look into offering this service but realised there was more to it than just blasting the muck away.

Thats how I started and to be honest you can get by - look see cameras have come down in price. The legislation is due to change in 2011 so its not worth investing

What's happening with the legislations in 2011
-
It looks like all private sewers and laterals will be adoped so unless the blockage is actually on the owners land the water company will be responsible but the system will be seyt up so private drainage companys don't get a look in.
April 2011

is drain jetting a dying trade then for individuals?
-
Yes as per earlier post if the legislation goes through the likes of dyno rod will have the monopoly and the small firms will die off, The customers will pay dear for the move in the end as the big firms will make a killing.

Yeah but all i would do is clear drains on peoples own land, clear there pipes and drains etc, just want to add it as a extra service for my business so surely this legislation will not have anything to do with me clearing pipes and drains in peoples land?
Cheers

As above thats how I started doing drains with this kit and you can do a lot with it and earn well but I would'nt invest further unless the bill fails

do u need any specialist insurance for this sort of work?
Where can you get attachments for pressure washer and how much would you charge per hour for this sort of this work!
-
You can get a 1/4" hose and a 1 forward 3 rear jet from techclean or many other suppliers. You can charge a fixed fee for the clearance so if you don't clear it you don't charge them - I charge £78 hour but have all the kit, you would be able to charge £60 quite happily if you clear it. Its not as easy as you might think and you will need rods which will also allow you to clear blocked toilets but get lockfast rods
-
is it hardwork?
-
Any work can be hard work if you make it that way - you can earn good money with the right kit - but only up to April next year as things stand at present. Its a good add on to drive cleaning as its just another hose.

why only upto april?
