why would anyone want o buy from Ionics ?

because they make top quality systems thats why.

however I have tested the upkeeper and found it to be too big and bulky,   but looking forward to the newer version as Ive heard some good feedback about it.

I have the Omnipole guttervac and after a few teething problems Ive now found it to be a very nice piece of kit and does exactly what it says on the tin and has moren than paid for itself since I bought it in September.

cant really comment on the other one   sorry yes I can    its to small and not powerful enough for bigger jobs.

Upkeeper looks brilliant from the vids I've seen.

The reviews are dismal,.. VERY dismal. The omnivac beats it hands down apparently.

Upkeeper imo (from haqndling it was nto a good one) the let down was the pole far to wide and could not go up to height.
I have an omnipole and I looked at the tree available, upkeeper, omnipole, and brodex. Omnipole got my money.
Unless the polar vac is alot better sucking with a smaller motor,  than of the 3 x motors of the omnivac I would not even think of buying it as the omnipole one can struggle at height add smaller it would be worse wouldnt it ?.

I have heard that the power of the numatic is not enough (2400w). Then I hear that most people only use 2 of the 3 motors in omnipole's system (2x1400w=2800w). I would be happier with a Numatic as it is a branded product with parts easily available locally and plenty backup. But then, maybe I would need the power of the omni sometimes?
WHich one is the better buy?

Prefer to use customer leccy if poss. DOn't know if that is possible with the 4200w model. Even if the custie's ring main will handle it, to get a transformer that would power the omni (6 kva+) is VERY expensive :o whereas I can pick up a 5kva (enough to power the polarvac) very cheaply as this seems to be a standard. Generator bulky, noisy and another thing to break down so would rather avoid.

On the other hand, I like the look of omnipole's pole and the tooling. Seems better than running a hose up the outside of a window cleaning pole. Polarbrite's tools look ok but not maybe got enough reach to get to some commercial guttering or to clean downpipes. Has anyone tried both methods?

Everything is available seperately, so what is the best setup?

Here is the polarvac from Express
http://www.express-cleaning-supplies.co.uk/oos/vacuumcleaners/551585.html
You could buy this and then purchase the tubes and fittings from omni

http://www.omni-guttervac.com/accessories.html
This would be a full system and save a fair bit of cash

We use a WVD machine with a side inlet for our Polarvak, the machine at Express is not one of these. No body has had a problem with power/suction with our machine, each to their own, im not going to get into a debate with " if i use/own it, its the best "type of attitude  !!
can only comment on the positive feed back we have had, aswell as using it within our services part of our business where we have a large portfolio of apartment blocks which we undertake the maintenance of the guttering every 6 months.

I have a tool to spike the guttering, and I use this tool to remove the larger debris that cannot be sucked out with the vac.
My vac will easily suck out tennis balls filled with water at 35ft.
