Im moving in january to a place with internal garage and am hoping to put a static system together just a couple of questions:-
what ro will i need to easily fill 1000 litre ibc each night??
and at a water tds of 30- 40 is there any point with ro will i save money or just do di???
-
I would'nt bother with a RO unit if your tap tds is 40 ;)
-
i agree, just a nice big di vessel say 25ltr,,,,,,,,,, its alright for some eh!
-
How much water do you actually use in a day?
I find ro-man 300gpd unit economical to run (Though you can't buy it from ro-man, other suppliers sell similar or same).
Waste water ratio is good and filters not too expensive. You should be able to use ro water direct and dispense with resin.

If your on a water meter I would definetly go without the RO but I would definetly go without it anyway if my tds was that low :)

Hi Sean.
Of course, with you 40ppm tape water you dont need any RO for your static system.
Just set doubled DI vessels (25L+4,6L or 6,9L+6,9L depends of your DI water usage. Use http://www.cleantech.co.uk/tdscalc.htm) and add inline dual TDS -meter. Change DI resin in second vessel when tds >0ppm, and in first vessel - only when tds = tds_tap_water.
Best regards.
Merry Christmas

cool just wondered
thanks
will go for the double di and just fill straight into van!
-
40 tds is low, but I would still go for 4040 RO, unless your tds is 15 or less
totally agree, over time it will cost you alot more di only ask Dave morris
-
o ok
that was my first thought but with so many people saying otherwise i didnt know
but i suppose if i get a merlin for £215 it will pay for itself in time, got a 1000 litre ibc for nothing so saved there
-
sean mine is about 50 and i use a di it cost about £80 eery two months per van(one bag lasting two months) you could save money by having a ro which is somethng a may do soon.
-
My tap tds is 237 and in the last 3 years I've spent £36 in di resin. I use a merlin so they are not to expensive to run.
-
Anything above a 300gpd ro with booster pump will fill an ibc each night.
At £80 in resin every 2 months, a ro and booster pump will pay for itself soon after 6 months. You wouldn't need any resin then.
-
i think i am gonna get a ro , should i get a 4040 or merlin?
for 1000 litres a night
-
if your on a meter then 40 40 as merlin has a hell of a lot of waste water!
