Has anyone fitted a DI vessel to a freedom trolley ? Is it possible as there are other trolleys on the market with di fitted.
I could set up a vessel in my shed, but I thought if it's possible then it would mean being able to fill up my barrels on the go.
Also what size of vessel would you recomend ?
Thanks in advance

Should of got a purpose made DI trolley!!!
-
Well thanks for the advice, but I've got what I've got and was hoping that maybe someone had done similar and what size vessel would be best.
-
Yes iv done it, in fact I fitted 2 x 4 litre vessels although it wasnt to a pure freedom trolly but the principle is exactly the same. Simply cable tie it to the trolley some place convienient and plumb it in after the pump. That way you can fill quickly and let the water flow out to the polehose at about 2 litres a minute max and this slow flow will ensure the water is pure.

Hi mate,
Omnitrolley 50 DI has. See at: http://www.omnipole.com/omnitrolley.htm
Size of DI vessel apparently depends on the trolley design on the one hand and hardness of the water in your area and how many water you need as well on the other hand.

Vadim

Thanks guys, I'm going to make it a small new year project.

You've changed your tune, according to you, it makes no difference what speed the flow is?

It does through a small 4 litre vessel as opposed to the larger11 litre one. That was the reason to fit 2 because the resin didnt last too long with just the one vessel.
My argument with you concerned my completely opposite vanmount set up anyway
and I still maintain the amount of water purified will be the same weather put through
fast or slow per volume of resin. It will just simply be exausted quicker if its run through fast. :-*

You contradict youself ronnie but we'll agree to disagree, after all, it's the season of goodwill. :-*

Do you really want all that extra weight on a trolly?
-
Sorry Murdie, the vessels I had were 2 litre vessels and not 4 litre. As pictured here

They combined to make 4 litres, sorry to confuse.

Craig I was going to buy one of those used, but the seller changed there mind and withdrew it from sale, so I bought a used freedom trolley for a fraction of the price. That is what got me wondering if anyone had done similar.
If it's not going to be practible then I'll think again, but I will have a bash after new year and see if it works.
Matt I've allready bought a 2nd hand freedom trolley, but thanks anyway as they look just the job for fitting to the trolley, only down side is I would imagine they would need the resin fairly often, but a small price and a 5 min job.
Thanks guys

first off, i would look at your water, if its hard water, you really will be better off going down the RO route, running a small RO into a rain water butt ( or 2 ) and filling your barrels from that
i dont know if you have looked into your water ?? ? as if you are hard water and just DI, it will be expensive
i use a 100 GPD RO into a rain water butt and it works great
-
oh and yes, its a 5 min job to refill

Matt,
you use 100 GPD RO? How much water do you use and how long does it take to produce?
-
I've checked my tds and it's shown between 70-82ppm ? The water mains are under renewall round my way at the moment so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the different readings, but either way I understand DI only should be fine.

i have a 210 L rain water butt and the RO goes into that 6 days a week
i use about 250 on a normal day, when i do commercial it can be 400 plus
i start the week with my 400 L van tank full and the 210 L rain water butt full
keep inmind i only work 3 anda bit days per week
